Grab
- Six small paper slips
- pencil
- tape
- and a treasure such as a snack
- book
- or activity choice
Do this
- Choose a safe treasure and hiding place. Work backward to pick five clue locations.
- Write picture clues, rhymes, or simple directions suited to the hunters' ages.
- Place the last clue first and continue backward so you do not lose the trail.
- Start the hunt, offer warm-or-cold hints when needed, and enjoy the treasure together.
Keep it easy
Use photos or quick drawings of each location instead of written clues.
Take it further
Let the hunters design a return trail for the original clue-maker.
Adult note
Keep clues away from stairs, medicine, tools, appliances, and locked spaces.
